Rich Hall's "The Dirty South"
The team at Sumners was excited to work with one of the most popular stand up comedians on the circuit on his latest documentary for BBC 4. Rich Hall's The Dirty South was produced by Open Mike Manchester for BBC 4 and saw Hall set his keen eye and acerbic wit on his homeland as he sifted truth from fiction in Hollywood's version of the southern states of the USA.
Using specially shot interviews and featuring archive footage from classic movies such as Gone With The Wind, A Streetcar Named Desire and Deliverance, Rich discovers a South that is about so much more than just rednecks, racism and hillbillies.
This lighthearted documentary was a success for Open Mike Manchester and a follow up has been scheduled for a later date which Sumners are once again proud to be associated with.
