RTS North West Quiz Winners
Sumners prove they are the brightest minds in Manchester Television
A team from Sumners has won the inaugural RTS North West ‘Big Telly Quiz’. Sumners entered two teams, SumBoys and SumGirls, into the competition, which comprised 23 teams. Due to some last minute drop outs on the girls team some "manly" replacements were drafted in. The other 21 teams were made up from the BBC, Granada and several of Manchester's production companies.
Out of the 23 teams who entered SumGirls came 10th whilst the Sum Boys team came out on top and finished the quiz in first place. The winning team consisted of some of Sumners brightest (aka geekiest) minds but a special mention goes to their star player Paul "The Oracle" Shields for his in-depth knowledge of all things TV. (He needs to get out more!)
The SumBoys team were presented with a bottle of champagne by the Chair of RTS North West, Alex Connock and will be returning next year to defend their crown.
