Candy Cabs makes a Splash on BBC 1
Sumners are very proud to have worked with Splash Media on their first drama commission for BBC1, Candy Cabs. Splash Media is an independent television production company founded in 2006 by ex BBC employees Jane Lush and Fenia Vardanis. Having produced a variety of entertainment programmes the decision was made by Splash to branch out into drama and thus the idea of Candy Cabs was born.
Candy Cabs is a comedy drama based around a women's only taxi company who drive a fleet of bright pink taxis ! The main characters are played by Jo Joyner (Eastenders) and Lisa Millett (Early Doors) with an assemble cast made up Jodie Prenger, Paul Kaye, Claire Sweeney and Paul Nicholls.
Candy Cabs is the complete opposite from many of the programmes based in the North in the sense that it isn't all "grim up north". The beautiful locations and glorious weather have produced a bright and glossy finished product a million miles away from other dramas based in this area.
The Sumners team of Matt (online), Jamie (grading), Lindsey and Ashley (dubbing) all worked closely with the team at Splash to ensure that Candy Cabs looked and sounded as bright and cheerful as the paint on the taxis.
