After many years away from the limelight, 80's singing sensation Rick Astley is hoping to hit the big time once again with a little help from Peter Kay and the team at Sumners.
Following Rick's support slot during Peter Kay's 'Tour That Doesn't Tour' shows at the Manchester Evening News Arena the decision was made to make a video to accompany Rick's latest single 'Lights Out'.
Peter, who is a seasoned professional when it comes to directing music videos, was more than happy to take the helm of this project. The video was shot on the roof of a carpark in Salford Quays and also on the stage of the M.E.N Arena following one of Peter's shows. The video was shot in HD using the RED camera.
When it came to editing the video Matt Brown was Peter's first choice for an editor as they have worked together previously on a number of projects (Britain's Got The Pop Factor, The Winner's Song and Raider Of The Pop Charts).
Matt cut the video on the Avid Symphony Nitris and graded it on the DaVinci 2k grading suite. Ashley Armstrong was called upon to add the finishing touches to the audio mix using the Pro Tools audio dubbing system.
The video was shown during a BBC News interview with Rick on Thursday 10th June and also broadcast in full on Channel 4 on Wednesday 16th June.
